- Excused absences will be determined by the Director.
- Classes will start on time. Students are expected to be in their seats ready to begin.
- Departing class before the scheduled dismissal time is not permitted unless given prior approval.
- Students are responsible for all course material and are expected to obtain from a classmate any information that may have been missed due to absences.
- Excessive absences will result in dismissal from the school. See the Dismissal policy below.
- Failure to fulfill the academic and practical requirements.
- Excessive unexcused absences.
- Attending classes under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Behaving in a manner that may be harmful to the learning environment or reputation of the school.
Student Enrollment Agreement
After student application is accepted students and director will sign a Student Enrollment Contract.
This agreement creates a learning partnership and serves as a legally binding contract between MIMT and student.
Previous Credit
Credit transfers from other institutions will be reviewed on a case by case basis. It is essential that
specific criteria be met to integrate the student successfully into MIMT's curriculum.
Placement Assistance
The School may assist any student in job placement who has completed this program or help the student set
up his or her own massage practice. Throughout the year the school recieves employment opportunites for
massage graduates which will be posted on the school bulletin board. There are no guarantees of employment
from MIMT. Current law prohibits any school from offering a guarantee of job placement as an inducement to
enroll students.
Nondiscrimination
MIMT is committed to the education of all human beings and welcome a diversity of students. We do not discriminate
on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, nationality, sexual orientation or ethnic origin in our
administrative policies and educational programs.
Confidentiality
Permanent records are kept for all students at the MIMT office. Student files are confidential and cannot
be released without a student's written consent. A student may access his or her files by submitting a written
request to MIMT. MIMT will then contact the student and arrange to forward a copy of the requested information
to the student.
Draping and Modesty
Student conduct in the school will be proper and professional at all times. Proper draping procedures will
be used; nudity is not allowed. The student-therapist is required to wear suitable clothing and the
student-model is modestly draped during the massage.
Shorts, t-shirts, sweats, scrubs and tights would be examples of appropriate clothing.
Access to Student Files
Student files are considered confidential and will be accessible only to the student to whom it belongs.
Any student wishing to see his/her records may do so by appointment with the MIMT office.
Complaints
If a student has an issue he/she wishes to address, MIMT is open to discussion and to peaceful resolution
of the issue.
Dismissal
A student may be dismissed for any of the following reasons:
Reinstatement
Once a student is dismissed for any reason, he/she may seek reinstatement through a personal interview
with the Director.
Withdrawal
Withdrawal before the start of the program must be communicated in writing. If students have already
begun the program, an interview with the Director is required.
